Commercial Loan Officer
Career growth opportunity with a growing, dynamic, and focused Omaha community bank. All levels of experience will be considered.
The Commercial Loan Officer is responsible for soliciting, negotiating, underwriting and coordinating the closing of complex consumer, residential, equipment, SBA, commercial building and business loans in compliance with the Bank's lending policies and procedures; develops business checking and deposit relationships with customers; and promotes business for the Bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services.
The position of Commercial Loan Officer assists in attaining established Bank goals through active participation in sales management and officer call programs. Assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as, all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Engages in business development activities and solicitation of new business; actively involved in instilling and maintaining a positive sales environment through education of the Bank's products and services.
Interviews prospective applicants and requests specified information related to loan or credit application; corresponds or re-interviews applicants to resolve questions regarding application information.
Performs pre-qualification assessment and analysis of financial condition and risk of financing requests within framework of Bank credit culture and current economic and industry trends.
Gathers and analyzes all information necessary to present a financing request to Senior Management or Loan Committee for approval; meets with existing or potential customers; visiting sites of loans; negotiates loan terms and conditions; approves loans within established lending limits or refers and recommends acceptance to the Chief Credit Officer or Loan Committee.
Coordinates processing of approved loans; ensures loans are processed according to agreement, customer needs and conform to Bank lending policies; obtains sufficient information and/or documentation from customers; solves problems relative to processing and servicing of loans within his or her portfolio; approves loan disbursements in accordance with agreements.
Ensures that credit inquires and UCC filings are researched to determine credit worthiness and appropriate collateral positioning are achieved.
Ensures that certification or deletion of collateral is made by the appropriate personnel.
Negotiates, underwrites and processes renewals of credit facilities within established loan policy guidelines.
Approves loan payments, draws from lines of credit, and fund transfers within specified limits.
Authorizes commitment, engagement, auction and decline letters.
Reinforces the application of superior customer service through his or her own example along with appropriate follow through with involved customers and employees.
Develops and maintains knowledge of financial industry, economy, market conditions, rates, vendors and competition.

Reviews NSF and overdraft reports for customers assigned within his or her portfolio; approves or declines such exceptions within established lending limits.
Cross sells the Bank's other products and services, referring customers to appropriate staff as indicated.
Updates and corresponds with legal counsel and collectors on workouts, bankruptcies, and charge-offs to ensure all possible precautionary actions or measures are taken.
Assists in meeting annual deposit and loan growth goals assigned by senior management; participates in various internal committees assigned by senior management.
Provides leadership and training to less experienced loan officers and other staff members.
Responds to inquiries or refers inquiries to the appropriate department or person, and exhibiting the necessary follow through with customers and/or staff involved.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. Bachelor's degree (BA) or equivalent from an accredited college or university; a minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of a financial analyzing or lending background. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
Advanced experience, knowledge and training in financial statement and tax return analysis typically resulting from a combination of education in accounting, financial and/or credit analysis or related areas.
Advanced experience, knowledge and training in all lending activities and terminology.
Advanced knowledge of commercial, construction, real estate and consumer loan processing.
Ability to lead less experienced loan officers and other staff members as assigned.
Advanced knowledge of related state and federal lending and compliance regulations, and other Bank lending policies.

Credit Analyst
Job Summary
Assist lenders in the analysis of financial information and the preparation of Loan Presentation Summaries for credit approval or denial. Conduct financial statement review for loan officers, as well as comprehensive statement spreading. Perform loan reviews on a monthly basis for review by the board of directors and for internal review including risk rating assessments. Assist the Chief Lending Officer in assessing and managing the credit risk of the entire loan portfolio. Prepare the ALLL report, the watch list report, and other lending reports as assigned to provide key information necessary to manage the bank's loan portfolio. Teams with lenders and other loan staff to meet/exceed service expectations of clients and prospective clients. Monitor compliance with all Bank loan policies and procedures, as well as, all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
Job Duties
- Assist loan officers in the analysis of the financial condition of existing and prospective borrowers within the framework of the Bank's credit culture and current economic and industry trends.
- Assist loan officers in gathering financial data from customers in order to prepare spreadsheets and loan presentation summaries. Analyze financial information including financial statements and tax returns and contact customers when necessary for additional information and clarification of data. Make recommendations to lenders on loan terms and structures based on sound lending principles.
- Compile data from credit bureaus, conduct industry peer comparisons, perform cash flow and collateral analysis necessary to make credit decisions.
- Assist lenders and Chief Lending officer to assign a risk rating to new and existing loans based on established criteria.
- Prepare loan reviews reports on a monthly basis to be submitted to the Bank's board of directors.
- Review Loan files after closing to insure documents are properly executed, the Bank's collateral position is perfected and that all applicable state and federal banking regulations are followed.
- Assist loan officers in the coordination and processing of approved loans; ensuring loans are processed according to approved loan terms and customer needs while insuring compliance to Bank lending policies.
- Inform loan officers when up-to-date financial statements are needed for commercial accounts, loan renewals and for loan monitoring purposes; ensure credit inquires and UCC filings are researched to determine credit worthiness and to insure proper collateral lien priority is achieved.
- Assist loan officers in the review and renewal of existing credit facilities; provide back-up support as necessary.

Mortgage Loan Officer

Job Summary
The Mortgage Loan Officer is responsible for soliciting, negotiating, underwriting and coordinating the closing of routine residential mortgage loans in compliance with the Bank's policies, procedures and related laws and regulations. The position ensures delivery of exceptional client service and appropriate control over the processing and document preparation of mortgage loans. Promotes quality mortgage loan customer service and related activities; engages in business development opportunities; develops good customer relationships; and markets and cross sells other banking products. Assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as, all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
Job Duties
- Originate and generate mortgage loans.
- Uses interpersonal and communication skills to generate referral business, leads, and relationships with individuals, existing clients, past clients, and Real Estate Professionals.
- Participate in ongoing training for new program knowledge, guideline changes and compliance updates, in addition to skills to effectively originate, package, and close mortgage loans.
- Take thorough and complete loan applications; analyze and prequalify applicant information to determine viability of the client's desired loan program.
- Contributes to the day-to-day operations of the mortgage loan department.
- Review accuracy of loan documentation of new and current clients in accordance with established policies and loan processing procedures.
- Pull credit, analyze credit, and compare for accuracy with the mortgage borrower's statements. Correct inaccuracies and determine the correct loan options for the borrower based upon the applicant's present situation, future plans, and preferred loan product.
- Provide guidance and information relevant to the risks and benefits of each program the applicant is qualified for; effectively explain and communicate the terms of each product and ensure all documents necessary are signed by the borrower.
- Gather all initial documentation required based upon the applicant's selected loan program and the 1003 including all disclosure requirements. Prepare the loan package for review, stacking, and pre-submission audit.
- Work with the designated Underwriter to provide any letters of explanation, or additional documentation as necessary and required by underwriting to clear all conditions and close each loan.
- Perform periodic review of mortgage loan files to ensure all documentation is in order and in compliance, and follows up to correct deficiencies.
- Performs the following.
- Prepares mortgage loan documents as authorized and in compliance of secondary market lending guidelines to properly sell mortgage loans.
- Accesses loan documentation system and prepares notes and supporting documents.
- Prepares various loan documents such as initial disclosures.
- Coordinates with an approved title company to conduct the lender closing in accordance with lender guidelines.
- Follow up on post closing to ensure proper procedure implementation.
- Collects information and documentation to gain loan approval or denial process
- As needed, orders appraisals, orders and tracks flood determinations, requests title and lien search, processes credit verifications request and orders credit reports.
- Establishes, organizes and maintains credit file as documents are received.
- Ensures loan documents comply with all regulations, bank policies and Procedures.
- Provides quality control by ensuring loan documents are reviewed for accuracy and compliance
- Provides and monitors training based on established training time lines.
